Default Ej20 refit

Hi chaps I'm struggling to get my engine back on my gearbox it's an ej20 Iv jacked the gearbox and got it on the 2 bottom studs I just can't get it on the final 2 inch what am I missing ? Cheers matt

mine had to come right back about 5 times, and then it just slid home nice as you like

I was having had the same with mine a couple of weeks ago.

Give the crank a turn whilst you push the engine against the gearbox and also make sure that the gearbox is well supported (with a jack underneath) otherwise the gearbox just moves about on the hangers when you put force against it.

If that fails check your clutch is aligned and put some grease on the dowels on the bell-housing.

It should drop in quite easily when everything is lined up...
