Default Air filter classic

I gave my car a good clean today in the sun , first clay of the year.
While i was under the bonnet i thought i would be a good chance to clean my filter with the K&N cleaning kit i had brought.

Opened it and removed and filter i removed a oem paper filter, tho im sure i had a K@N fitted i even had the sticker on on the k@n Airbox still.
I have no clue what happened to my filter, unless the Garage swapped it over without saying anything whilst it was in.
So my question is, are all the filters the same size for 96-07? seen a few adverts stating that, others are model specific.

All good fella but personally use the Cosworth panel filter. Have you got it running now?

I have a subaru oem filter at the moment but It had a k@n I'm still working out when someone could have swapped it and why! Yes I might order the costworth one tonight. Sure I can still use the k&n cleaning kit on it when the time comes.

Get a pro-r/pipercross foam based one instead of a paper based one. I've heard that the paper based filters aren't as good as the foam filters.
