Default Engine Fails To Start With Alternator Connected

The car is a 2003 prodrive N10 (spec c originally) and after spending hours looking into it and spending hundreds on in the problem still remains. The car will not start correctly when the alternator is connected. It fires but the throttle does not react and it sounds like its on 2 cylinders but as soon as the alt plug is removed it runs fine.Anyone had a similar problem ? Changed the obvious things but has everyone baffled including some ex prodrive mechanics lol

Check the wiring loom under the NSF wheel arch. Once had one that had rubbed through inner liner and wiring.
