Default When plugging in a Snap-on diagnostics... Classic

When plugging in a Snap-on or any other diagnostics via the 16 pin ODB2 port, do you have to connect the test mode or read mode conenctors under the dash, or should it go straight in via the OBD2 port?

Thanks

Nothing except subaru select monitor will work on a classic obd2 port

the actual psi3 data monitor cable only has 3 wires into the obd2 plug/pins, so im guessing its a positive, negative & signal wire.

I can strip down the plug and mark out the pins for you but itll be weekend before i can do it

Is the psi3 data monitor cable the cable that is used to read SSM then on on classics? I've been trying to find mine in my bag of wires but can't.

Do you have a photo of this connector?

Thanks

Cant be 100% sure the psi3 and ssm use same cable but i guess they both use the same pin out on the obd2 pin out on the dash socket.

Im wondering was there a wiring diagram in the psi3 user manual, ive gave mine away just recently but vaguely remember it did. Somebody else on here might still have it on pdf format, or give user **** a shout thats who got mine

ill get the plug pin details on saturday

I've misunderstood sorry, the psi3, is this just an ODB2 shaped connector and only has a couple of pins in use?

There is another connector apparently under the dash that is used by main dealers for the SSM, they use this to plug in and not the OBD2.

Doy ou know anything about this, or what it looks like?

What is the PSI3? Is this just a diagnostics system?

Thanks

PSI3 data monitor reads a load of parameters from ECU but can also read ECU fault codes & perform ECU reset - hence assuming it is just reading the same data as the subaru select monitor

details of PSI3 parameters can be found here

on classics before 1997 you use the manual way to read codes.
