Default Engine Light Came On, Keep On Cutting Out

Bit of a broad one for you here, but i don't have diagnostics equiptment with me until Monday.

Car was running fine, hadn't touched anything and then blam, engine check light came on and now when i start it, it runs for a short moment and cuts out. If you hold the revs in neutral it stays on but when you rev it higher looses power.

Any ideas.

It's had a lot of wiring done to it as it's my track car but it had been running fine.

All i can think is the carbon canister system has confused it, but the solenoid was plugged in still.

Thanks

Yeah light went off after disconnecting the battery, but this doesn't reaolve my issue unfortunatly because i would like to know why this happened.

Run on res? You mean fuel reserve? Yeah it's currently in reserve right now, but i've had it in reserve before and it's never popped up?

Thanks

if its low it may have picked some crap up, the ecu may have spotted a drop in pressure and given you a warning, but not even in limp mode it should idle fine.

Sounds fairly obvious but the original description sounds rather like a boost/vacuum/intake problem.
Don't want to teach anyone to suck eggs so I'll assume that kind of thing has been checked already....

This is the problem with electronics, flipping annoying. I just had my car out on the road quickly and it's running fine now, but i could assume that if it came on once, it's going to come on again.

Just would like to know the issue before Monday night.

Thanks
