Expansion bottle overflow
Hi all,
Having recently fitted a FMIC to the car we had to relocate the overflow bottle for the coolant system which was no real issue as it went where the intercooler spray bottle went, now we have just had to put a FPR in so yet again had to move the bottle.
It's been moved to a temporary location until I can find a substitute location and bottle. So my question is who has done the same and gotten rid of the oem bottle and replaced it with an aftermarket one and where have they put it?
Pictures would be great but if not an idea where I can get the item.
Car is JDM 2.0l hawkeye and my FMIC was not supplied with a bottle.
Cheers
Ed

I had to do the same just this weekend. My Perrin FMIC came with a replacement expansion/overflow bottle but it is extremely small in comparison to the OEM one and as a result it overflows all of the time when engine is hot. I have had it removed and replaced the OEM one to just next to the Near Side Front suspension strut secured to the air con pipe. I have just taken these pics - it's dark so sorry if they ain't great! My car is a UK Hawkeye STI. Works much better now!
Hope this helps

Fair play for taking the pictures tonight, appreciate it.
That's pretty much where I had it before we fitted the fuel pressure reg, swirl pot etc so it won't fit very well in there now.
What sort of capacity was the bottle supplied with the kit, I'm thinking a 1-1.5litre bottle is what I'm having to go for.
Tidy looking engine bay there

That's the kind of thing I'm after but 1-1.5litre capacity,
That's a nicely done engine bay, I've just ordered samco classic black hoses for mine to replace the blue hoses supplied with my HDI kit and replaced the hard pipe breather that used to run along the standard intercooler.
Just going for the tidy look while remaining with OEM colours

That's a pretty funky looking pot, I will have a measure up and see what I can fit in and where.
I must admit I did find the moroso stuff when I searched for some so that may be the way to go
