Default Problem opening boot

Last weekend I swapped my boot lid as my original one was starting to rust. I didn't get around to exchanging the lock barrels (a fiddly job and the light was fading so I left it for this weekend).

I had no problem last weekend opening the boot with the lever next to the driver's seat, but this morning the lever doesn't work.

Any ideas for getting the boot open other than picking the lock?

there is a litttle lever on the boot catch that disables the cable pull, sounds like this has been knocked over...........

you 'may' be able to open it by dismantling the rear seat and gaining access that way

Can you get into the boot by the arm rest in the back seat? It's only small but with a torch you might be able to see if you can get to the catch.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I don't have a rear armrest ('93 classic) but the rear seats appear to be a cinch to remove, so I'll try that.
