jap wrx?or what would it be?
this is a black impreza i bought recently,its a jap import on the book it says ita an impreza r, its a 4 door 98 version 5 no diff controler or no ic water spray, could it be a wrx or what are they in japan?thanks

got a type r as well,engine only rebuilt, am hopeing to have it on the road again for the summer, just need to get it mapped and tested, but i wana get a few more running in miles before ill let that happen!!

No versions on wrx's 
What you have is a phase 1.5 engine, that would mean (depending on whether you have the facelift interior or not) that it will be an MY97 (pre face lift int) or an MY98 (face lift int), both can be "R" registration cars.
