Default Turbo 2000 Is this the same gbox as a WRX?

Hello,

I've recently sold my Turbo2000 on ebay to a french buyer.

We've been emailing and I noticed they are calling my car a WRX, I have corrected them, and this is been going back and forth for the best part of an hour.

I Think they want my car for the gearbox, and what they are now asking is:

Is the MY99 Turbo 2000 gearbox the same as a WRX gearbox?

If you can respond ASAP that'd be truly helpful.

I'm new to Subaru, so my knowledge is limited.

Thanks in advance.

If my (limited) Subaru knowledge is correct, it depends on the gearbox code and the final drive differential ratio

The Uk spec (2000) has a longer gear ratio compared to the JDM WRX short ratio gearbox.

Thank you for response,

So to clarify it isn't the same as a WRX box? They don't just have a massive pile of identical gearboxes at SubaruHQ, and wack the same on all of them?

Thank you that is actually a very good find, well done.

I'm now being asked if it is a EJ205..

Pretty sure that doesn't exist? I have an EJ20...paperwork to prove.

Ladies and gentlemen, these are the problems we face when selling to someone who speaks a different language.
