Default Removing Up-Pipe Cat 02 WRX

Looks like the flexi-section on my manifold to turbo pipe has gone (again!), looking around it would appear that most people supply this pipe without a cat in it. The question is can I do a straight swap for a decat one on my PPP car without having to have it mapped again?

I doubt it mate. Any changes to the exhaust are likely to affect the behaviour of the car unless you swap it like for like.
You should avoid anything with flexi joins in - all tends to be cheap crap that perishes quickly as you've sadly discovered.
I'd recommend you just go back to OEM headers and an STI up pipe or Hayward and Scott / Harvey one (latter being the best choice)
