Does an sti v4 use a intake charge temp sensor in the airbox

I'm doing a subaru conversion and I'm sorting out my wiring loom at the moment and I'm sure I noticed a sensor in the air box when I stripped the engine out the donor car but I have since binned the air box as I won't need it.
So do classic sti use a sensor or am mistaken?

I have a black sensor as well but i dont know if its intake temp, would like to know what it is as well.

Yes that is used as a air temp sensor on the standard v3/4 ecu

Thanks, I have found a connector that could possibly be for this sensor or so I'm hoping.
Im not using the standàrd airbox is it best to just fit the sensor by the cone filter? I presume this is just an ambient sensor?
