2.5 hawk crank pulley failure :-(
well after a rubbery burning smell i opened up the bonnet to find this.......
so got the car recovered to scooby spares in fleetwood and hopefully have her back today. see how much it will cost with a service. why is it things happen when you have no money grrrrrr

ouch !! it spat what i think was the alternator belt which could explain why the alarm has been chirping the last few weeks. we thought it was a poorly battery but the belt may of been lose and not charging up all that well.

Yepp I had the same problem the other month. Apparently if you hear a small squeak when turning the ignition off then that's a hint to have a look.
Lucky it didn't ping off at 5,500 rpm or else I would have had a new bonnet scoop and radiator!!!
