Default turbo leak?

My wrx sounds like it blowing under acceleration with a ticking noise. Ive read that this could be pre turbo exhaust leak and it does sound in that area. The gasket/joins from up pipe to turbo looks good but the turbo to downpipe definately has a bit of a leak. Can this leak cause the ticking noise or does it HAVE to be before the turbo for this noise?

Not sure mate but for the sake of a gasket I'd get one and see if that solves the problem. If it doesn't, under tray off and have a look under your headers.....the down pipe gasket is going to need changing either way.

Yeh ive got both gaskets....up pipe to turbo n turbo to down pipe. I can manage the downpipe one but the turbo bolts/nuts seem to be a bit awkward.
