I just unbolted the seats and unplugged the connector.
What the recommended process is, is disconnect the battery and leave it for 30-minutes to allow any residual charge in the system to drain. Airbag are an electro-explosive device and excess static or a simple spark could, however unlikely, set them off. Just make sure you're not wearing your best nylon gimp suit

The connectors for the airbag will be buried under the carpet somewhere - you should be able to rummage around and find them and they'll have squibs in to keep the light off. The seatbelt pretensioner is in the b-pillar at the base of the seat-belt retractor and not in the seat mounted clip so don't worry about that

I've not seen any heater wiring, although in principle it would be simple it could prove to be quite messy to run all of the wiring including any switches, fuses and relays

You could, but you'd need to run a live from either the fusebox or the battery for the live feed and find somewhere for the relay. It all depends upon how tidy a job you want

Anything is possible, you'd just need to plan it out, look around at what is available in terms of space and then go for it. You need to make sure any live to the relay is the right gauge cable and suitably fused as the heaters will draw plenty of current
