Default Wheel bearing

I am just about to change my wheel bearing. Is there anything I should plan for/not expect? Has anyone done one themselves who can give any tips? Many thanks

Do you have a press, or at the very least a heavy duty vice?

i found it cheaper and easier to buy a second hand hub, simple job then.
if you have brembos the bolts are known to snap off when removing caliper, as above though you will need a hydraulic press

I removed my hubs, then took them to the local garage. Gave the guy a drink for pressing them in and out. I recall the press being at something like 15ton before the old bearings came out

if remember right
push the center out first this will leave the inner race part of the bearing stuck to the shaft
outer race will still be in the hub and knocks out
all the bearing usually fall everywhere

support hub well in press as they crack easy around caliper lug holes

keep hold of the outer race as its handy for fitting new bearing

As above but don't forget to support the inner race as you push the shaft back into the hub, otherwise you will knacker your new bearing.

I still have one hub and driveshaft in the garage that refused to seperate, even in a press. Fortunately had another hub with driveshaft so fitted that instead.

Don't forget to get the geometry set up again.

Good luck
