Default 1998 Impreza STI Boost Problem

Hi all recently bought a 1998 subaru impreza STI and its running like **** .. when idling it has a slight misfire ...

When driving and try to put your foot down the car hesitates like mad (feels like its starving for fuel) ...

I have fitted new plugs .. checked HT leads .. cleaned boost solenoid .. checked turbo actuator .. checked for splits / cracks in the piping ..

Don't know what else to check .. been told could need uprated fuel pump fitting ?? or could be to do with the baileys dump valves ??

Any ideas / help would be appreciated ??

Change the MAF sensor or take it down to Richard Henry's in west bowling and let them sort if for you

check the maf before buying a new one. it's simple let the car warm up and unplug it. if the car dies then it's not the maf, but if not then it is most likely the maf. Also did you check your coil packs? The baileys dump valve could be it. I just fitted one to mine for a week and I had some trouble with it missing under high boost and idle did not feel right, took it off now all is fine.

IIRC your MAF should be an Orange label. If your MAF is faulty you might be able to repair it. Have a look here https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-repaired.html

As stated, coil pack. And more importantly, which HT leads did you put on. There are 100's of people on here, including myself who have put on, so say performance leads and and they've caused nothing but problems.
