Default max bhp with a open deck block

hi all

i'm looking into a forged bottom end for my car so i can make around 400bhp/450bhp, i have a spare open deck block which i'm thinking about doing the build with, am i safe to run that kind of power on a open deck block or do i need a closed deck block?

be great to speak to someone who as done a open deck build before :-)

thanks

Depends on part used and if is built correctly will hold the 500-550bhp,we are run on Open Deck Block 490bhp without the NOS

We've run them at that sort of level without unduly worrying about it.
I suppose given the choice, I'd always want a closed deck block, but then we'd all like the best available wouldn't we?
