Default BLUE SMOKE From exhaust?

Right car is a WRX 2.0 Turbo 2004 Manual, 89,000 Miles Full Subaru Service History. Running Scoobyclinc Map Dynod at 280bhp. full s/s exhaust and decat.

Bought it 2 weeks ago, day after blue smoke from bonnet and exhaust at idle after driving. NEVER on initial start up

Rang garage, had it inspected and subaru independent specialists diagnosed turbo oil seals TD04L .

So we bought a refurb TD04L less than 19000kms on. Inspected and tested prior to fitting and warranted from Nippon Auto Spares Derby.

So we had it fitted by a subaru independent specialists, oil change and filter. Inter cooler had virtually no oil so was refitted.

Anyway problem has re appeared. But no smoke out of bonnet just exhaust at idle after a run and not always. Car boosts fine, temps good, no knocks or bangs .

So were stuck, mechanic said after inspecting old turbo on removal could not find a real issue.

Thanks

Take it to a proper subaru specialist and they'll tell you where the leak is from, before you waste any more money buying parts unnecessarily.

No not necessarily. Coming out of the exhaust, yes, but could be also be a piston ring amongst other things. Not sure what would cause it to come up through the engine bay as well as out of the exhaust though, unless the two are unrelated.

Keep an eye on oil levels either way and take it to a recognised specialist for diagnosis.

Possible blowing exhaust maybe before the turbo change which is why you saw the smoke before but not now? Just a guess.

If the problem is still there after after the turbo change I would be inclined to think the problem is else where, especially if you had it inspected prior to fitting ( provided it was inspected tidy )

How many miles have you done since the turbo change perhaps you have oil through your exhaust that needs to be burnt off if the turbo was the original fault.
