Uprating the injectors is necessary when you have modified the car beyond the limits of the current injectors fitted. If you just go and buy a set of pinks and get them fitted it will have a detrimental effect as there will be too much fuel added as the ECU (brain) is not programmed for them. What injectors you can fit is also determined by the year of Impreza you have as there are different designs of injectors.
If you are planning anything ask on here buit be prepared for the daft comments, speak to who is going to do the work for advice. But don't just jump in feet first. I have modded my bugeye from 265 bhp upto 440 bhp and generally at each stage I have done I have researched and spoken to my mapper a number of times before buying the bits then fitting them. Sometimes from idea to work done has been 3 months plus.
Feel free to message me if you wish. Steve

yeah i fully intend on a JGM remap as its overboosting atm, is it worth getting the injectors fitted before a remap and what are the gains this gives?

Get any bits fitted before the re-map as any changes afterwards will most likely need a tweak to the map thus more £££££.
Speak to JGM about your plans and take his advice.
I have had no dealings with JGM but have read som many excellent posts if the guy who maps mine stopped I would not hesitate in going to JGM.
