Like we are going to admit to driving like nutters on an open forum.

I commute 26 odd miles fast country roads at 5 in the morning and get nowhere near as bored as the drive home at 6 in the evening

You don't have to do 3 figure speeds to get poor fuel consumption. Rapid acceleration, short journeys where the car doesn't reach efficient operating temperature, driving everywhere in 2nd gear, overuse of the brakes rather than anticipating where you'll have to stop, incorrect tyre pressures, air con, windows open, bags of cement in the boot, multiple passengers, roofbox, trailer, etc. will all conspire against you.

I drive mine to and from work, 20 mile journey in and same back so nice run. I drive as normal as one does. Lets face it you didn't buy one to drive it like a Sunday driver, did you?? Overtake and don't be overtaken :-) I don't hit the limiter unless showing off. And I have never had it to 140 :-)
Average 20ish MPG
