Default Ecu help

Hi all, got a prodrive ecu from a s reg classic, I was told it will fit models 97-01,tried it in my 2000 facelift, all plugs fit perfect but engine just turns over, my alarm still works on the fob but not keypad, does the prodrive ecu need resetting to my car or is there something else I'm missing...

Sam

For a v5 impreza (coil pack on the right of the engine) the prodrive ecu is STI SP 1001056110 A18-000 DIX with a grey plastic socket surround but the one for the v4 impreza is different.

Looks like you have the wrong ecu and i can`t understand how it would run a v4 impreza and a v5 as the ecu`s are totally different and i have the genuine prodrive ecu`s so i know my info is correct but the v4 needed coding in where as the v5 did`nt as i fitted it to an RB5.

The genuine PPP ecu for a v5 is as i have stated above and this will not fit a v4 and also the v4 needs coding in and fitting an unknown ecu is i think asking for trouble.

It might fit when coded in but the ecu is not one from PPP in my opinion and not knowing what map it has got it is not something i would fit to my cars.

It cannot be identical if the numbers are different and it is the numbers what count.
