Thumbs up Cambelt advise please

Im in the process of shopping around for my cambelt to be changed.

I have just moved to Catford South London and previously used kinghams Croydon as i was in south croydon for all my main dealer related stuff. Ive just asked them for a quote for the cambelt kit and water pump to be changed on my impreza 99 classic and have been quoted just short of £850.

Is it me or does this sound abit steep.

Basically what I'm after is an idea on what i should be paying and if anyone knows of a good dealer locally who is not going to rip me off.

Any advise would be appreciated cheers

well done buy someone who knows what hes doing it only takes max 2 hours
belt kit depends who you get it off and if you replace every roller/guides + the hydraulic tensioner.

get a
gates belt
and adl blueprint guides etc

850 seems a wee bit steep

Slowboy Racing in Brands Hatch are extremely good. Just started to get in with them for my 2000 classic, and they went above and beyond the call of duty for me, even though it was my first service with them.

www.slowboy-racing.co.uk - you can look at prices on here, but call Neil and tell him what you want, he'll tailor a price for you.

They aren't exactly local to you, but it's a nice drive back when the car is finished and running sweetly. There are no public transport routes down that way though; unless you're prepared to sit around and wait, you'll need to organise someone to pick you up and drop you off.

Good man. Let me know how you get on, I'm due back at the beginning of March for a minor service and some other bits.

Agreed - you'll probably have enough of a testimonial when you get there and see the number (and quality) of the Imprezas that turn up.
