Default Opinion on Deatschwerk fuel pumps...

My 2003 Blob STI is around the 350bhp mark, Andy Forrest remap. Pro-R filter, full decat etc.

I've had two Walbro 255's fail within months, maybe a bad batch so my standard fuel pump went back in for the remap. I've now had my manifolds ported and the car is going back for a tweak to the map.

Now, I'm going to change the fuel pump before the remap, but wary of the Walbro even though thousands of them are out there.

I'm thinking of a Deatschwerk DW200 which is a 255lph pump, anyone got any opinions on it compared to a Walbro 255? It's got a 3 year warranty....

Will this be ok with an oem fuel regulator?

Cheers guys,
Lenny

The HRC`s are pretty good from what i gather, 2 year warranty and reasonably priced too.

Why are you sticking with a 255lph pump, Lenny?

Surely a one with a higher flow rate is better, as it should give you a bit of head room?

I think higher rate pumps aren't suitable for oem fuel regulator? I've no interest in any more power, think 255lph is fine for 350bhp...

Define lovely..

I'm really wanting opinions on DW or RCM, as that is the two I'm considering... I'm leaning towards the RCM 340 if I'm honest.

340lph on yours can be overkill(if you are not looking run above 400bhp,I've run HRC 340lph at 490bhp without the problem, but we should be OK with 300lph instead) and you will need at least get AFR checked by your mapper and possibly tweaked

Fitted plenty of Deatschwerks 300lph pumps on stock regulators without issue.
They are very good quality and we've had no problems with failures.

Cheers, would you say they are better than the Walbro 255? Any thoughts on the RCM 340?
