some advise with my 1995 impreza please
rite folk i have a 95 impreza thats misfiring on cylinder 3 alt idle and throughout the rev range the car has pathetic throttle response and doesnt seem to boost till bout 5000 plus rpm and juders and spits till it boosts then its not to bad should b alot better of course iv checked the following compression test seemed fine its got a spark and its getting fuel and timming is good to me it should run fine and there r no nocks or bangs from the engine is really smooth
has any1 had this prob b4 iv checked the car for fault code and its not flagging up any.any advise would great folks this is driving me nuts and as for spec it has exhaust systemn and decat ' induction kit, dump valve, tdo5 , yellow 440 injectors, chiped z4 ecu and all the cast marks smothed out of the inlet manifold not sure of the ecu chip though can post a pic of it up tomorrow if that helps thanks

okay now i went to the car today and as usual it fired straight up as normal with the same running like crap turned the car off then 2 secs later went to start it bk up and it just kept turning over so pulled the plugs out and they were soaking with fuel gave them a clean and then checked for a spark and they all had a good blue spark on all 4 the ecu isnt reading any codes does any1 have a rough idea wat could b causing this
is the chip in the ecu is mapped for the 440 injectors? 380 are standard. if you can not be sure then i would fit a set of 380 injectors and see how it runs then.

thanks i dnt no wat map its got i bought the ecu off ebay as my car used to have an apexi in it. my friend is gna solder a bit in the ecu to disengage the chip and i will put 380 injectors in it hopefully it runs better well thats when its running again i cant get the car to start and everything seems good compression spark fuel no codes coming up but i will get some 380s on it in the mean time

i will get the parts i think it still has the green maf on it could b wrong still cant understand y it wnt start though it was starting up no problem with the setup it has at the minute i had the car running and turned the car off and 2 mins later it wouldnt start bk up. its still getting a good spark on all 4 and fuel and compression is good it turns over and just doesnt fire just soaks the plugs with fuel wat would stop it firing?
it has full stainless exhaust no silencers cat just straight through from downpipe to backbox walbro fuel pump 440 injectors and the inlet manifold lightly ported k&n induction kit and a dump valve standard tdo5 and intercooler the car hasent ran right since i got it has alway had pathetic throttle responce its realy lazy on the revs
As top do not start it m8 as the new ecu will not help it you need to see if the apexi ecu was mapped and if not get that one mapped wive the mods or just get ride of the mods but do not start it m8
when i got the car it was just the same no throttle responce but was told it could do with a remap so i opted for the standard ecu and to put it to almost standard specs and sell the trick bits . and i dnt drive the car it lives in my garage and has done since i owned it i dnt want to drive it till i get to the heart of the problem the engine is good so dnt want to wreck it through a bad sensor or smthing
Hi mate i had the same setup as you and the same problem, my problem was that the spark was getting blown out at high revs so i got new plugs and re gapped them job done.i was only getting 0.8bar then after doing the plugs and a different restrictor pill it went up to 1.0bar..
nice 1 m8 am gna put 380s on it and get it running rite then start tuning it wat gap r the spark plugs ment have and also the fuel rail has the orange sticker i was wonderin is the fuel presure regulators dif on the orange rail to the one with the green sticker on it
