Antilock brake light??
Hello, I was hoping that someone will have an idea on what my problem is, I was just about to sell this week as well but cant now.
The car is a 1995 wrx wagon
When I start the car up the antibrake light stays on and looks to be flashing, and when this light is on the engine power is also intermitent so when I press the accelerator the car is hesitating and even backfires a little. But then I might start it and it's absolutely fine, no light and drives as it should.
Only started doing it 2 days ago.
Thanks for any advice

Are you sure its the ABS light, not the check engine light?
Try connecting the black-black and green-green under the steering column, should flash the light to tell you the code(s)....

If its defo the abs light, then forget about the green an black plugs.
BUT,
About 2 inches further up the wiring loom from the green and black plugs you will find one larger plug that has a jumper wire coming from it.
Hold the plug in one hand with the clip uppermost, then insert the jumper cable into pin no 6 ( bottom right if your holding it the right way round)
Then ignition on ,
This will now flash the abs light with a blink code the same way it works with the ecu codes.
To reset the abs ecu, quickly remove and replace the jumper cable I to pin 6 at least 6 times,

Thank you for the help that i was given.
Ive found the problem, you will probably laugh!
The battery leads needed cleaning up and clamping to
The battery tighter as they were making a poor connection.
Which was probably caused by the battery not being secured.
Cheers
