54 plate wrx blobeye
Hacksaw , die grinder or drill , rotary burr or small sanding wheel
Somthing to fill the holes , either drill and tap and put a bolt in or weld em up ( preferable )
If you can wait till after Christmas and do without you're car for a week ( max ) and can get em to me I'll weld em up and do em for you

Here's mine I did
Cheers tony

Ah I see , I was gonna get a spare set of tgvs and do em , then offer em on an exchange basis , ( just ask for postage )

Just read it again , I guess you mean how much are a standard set of s/h tgvs
Stock ones can be had cheap
If anyone's reading and got a spare stock set I'll mod em and we could get the ball rolling
Just pay postage and I will do em for s/n members on an exchange basis

As far as i know they are yes as all the manifolds are interchangable so cant see a reason why not, I`ll dig them out tomorrow as i`m off work now until the new year

Be easier if i sent my set to you if anyone is interested in them to save on additional postage, timescale etc..

Nice one
I thought they were , but not 100%

Yeah can do , I'll mod em and anyone wanting a modded set can send their old ones
In exchange , and we're off

No doubt I'll probably upset someone somewhere offering free tgv deletes lol

What about the sensors? I was under the impression that removing these would throw a cel?

I have a spare bug set I'm after modding, I was going to fill them with epoxy resin, but once I have a modded set fitted the old ones will be surplus

Sticking bolts in and resin is a common way , personally I'd rather have em welded , if you take em to a local shop they shouldn't charge more than a few quid , then it's as proper as you can get
Or get em to me and I'll do em for you
After cristmas

I've a mate who's tried to weld them with no joy so I'm getting them back off him in January. If you're happy I'll get them to you once I have them back. PM me an address and I'll get them off when they're back

What do you gain by doing this on a wrx, does it need a map tweak after fitting?

On it's own, not a great deal but with a series of other mods a couple of BHP plus one less set of sensors to go wrong. I'm adding a VF34 turbo to my ported headers and FMIC and I'll probably mildly port my inlet too. The benefits will be realized on the remap

Afaik there is not a great deal to be gained , some say 10bhp ish , others say no difference
As for map tweak , if you're having you're cel switched of it wouldn't hurt
I had to delete mine because the map I run doesn't support tgv operation

I doubt it, I don't need to for the power I'm after and the hassle of re-routing the FMIC pipework and flipping the alternator doesn't provide enough benefits

It does seem a bit of hassle but the i/c pipe work length is reduced considerably , I don't know how much it reduces lag but it can't make anything any worse
And it makes you wonder what used to fill the huge
Space that's left
