Not that hard at all just make sure you have a selection of small extension bars to fit inside the bay, only have to move the washer bottle to gain access to the passenger side, as long as you have the right tools and patience you will be fine fella

Washer bottle is not in the way on a 2006, as it has the air pump there, it can be removed but easier to work round it, with a bit of arm twisting.

I did mine (MY06 STI) for the first time recently.
Took a couple of hours, as I did drop a plug down the side, so needed to remove the floor-pan. Did an oil change at the same time because of this.
Removed airbox on drivers side (very easy) and the battery on the passenger side.
Was not very difficult. Just need the right sized extension on the spark plug socket/ratchet.
Did not need to remove the air-pump.
Next time will be quicker!

Did mine which was the first time, just have to remove the air box and pipes on the left and washer bottle on the right.
As above with the correct tools its about 1 hour to do.
