I think the small part of the speedo cable has broken internally again,it happened a few yrs ago so i replaced with a used item,looks like its happened again as speedo dropped out earlier today, anyhoo, havent had time to remove it etc but about 30 mins into journey at 70-80 the check engione lite came on, bit of a coincidence the speedo drops out now the lights on,so assume thats why its on, but any idea why ? what is it complaining about ? thats if it is related,knowing my luck, its something totally unrelated ha ha

The ecu takes a signal off the speedo and will throw a check light up if it breaks, sometimes wont let the car rev past 3k

cheers,thought it was something like that,what with the limiter being linked to the speedo etc, but as it drives fine, i can go past 3k etc, just wondered what it was looking for LOL

cheers again,nopw to look out for the bottom half of the cable at the local scrappy :-)
