Flashing Engine light & Shaking on tick-over
Hi everyone, hoping I might be able to get some advice..
I was driving home from work today and the check engine light came on (flashing), just before it happened I noticed the car seemed to be struggling for power, crawled it back home and when I parked it up I noticed the car was shaking with the engine ticking over..
Had a quick look through forums and I've read all sorts from missfire to being told they're engine's f*cked.
Anybody else had this problem?
Should I start puting some money together?!
The car's an '04 wrx with PPP, 168k on the clock.

Sounds like a misfire to me. Either the spark isnt there ( coil pack, spark plug ) , the fuel isnt there ( injector failed - unlikely ) or there is no longer any compression ( piston or valve failed ).
Read fault codes and go from there would be my first step.
