What BHP can you expect from a SC42 bb
I plan on getting one of these after Christmas after doing a bit of reading on SCs turbo thread. Depends on supporting mods & spec but on VPower close to 420 is the norm & with 20% Meth they can go over 500.

sorry this is going to make me actually sound like a thick sh*t here but, will fitting a say SC42 turbo over the vf35 give me more power, if leaving the standard T/M and the rest of the sti ppp set up?

Yes it will but will need mapping to put it right, its not just a case of "whack it on there and happy days"
You can stick with the top mount and standard airbox, I`d say as an average the sc42 has a good 75 bhp over the vf35.

Probably but you'll need the correct mods to get the full benefit, FMIC will help but it's more about exhaust system & injectors as well as mapping.

cheers guys! exhaust im planning on blitz spec R, and for injectors they wasn't on my list of things
as for cats i dont want to decat the downpipe as i cba with the mot issue, and i dont really want to go for the front mount unless really necessary

You won't need injectors to see you 370, you can leave it stock and with full decat or decent sports cat along with sc42 and the map should see you 380+ on a newage Sti, they can push over 400 but that's where it's said the injectors are pretty much at 100% duty although a fpr will help a little but better off changing them if you want the full potential of the turbo with meth for example

It's not that bad once your in a rhythm with it, just like going to the petrol station and fuelling up, be the biggest bang for your buck thas for sure
getting mine sorted for the meth map shortly
getting mine sorted for the meth map shortly If you want twin fuel maps, you'll have to go "open source" (can of worms opened etc etc).

another vpower is lower and higher is 20% meth

Also Took the two sc42's off my racecar and both were fitted to newage sti's and made 410 and 420bhp at 1.5bar on vpower. Cant find picture of the graphs.
Simon
Is that how it behaves on the road as well?
I'm currently playing around with different turbo ideas for the track car once the road car is sorted (grr), but that seems pretty late spooling for track IMO.
I wonder if I've made a mistake selling the TD05-20g I had..

From: Trying to pull a 10 second 1/4 mile running a standard 2.0ltr engine...
Cars will perform better on the road as the conditions are obviousley more favourable..All cars are different and will give varying results depending on what mods are fitted to support the turbo, plus engine spec/health etc etc and of course what the cusatomer actually wants from the car..imho you havnt made a mistake selling the 20g Henrik as the SC42 will outperform it in every department on the correct car, assuming its a non billet 20g that is.
