Default What's this connector on the ignition barrel and which are which wires?

What is this connector into the ignition barrel?

And what wires are which position 1, 2, 3, 4?

Car is a 2000 classic.

its for the 'you left your key in the ignition dip****' buzzer for want of a better phrase

IIRC Sam,
1) battery supply
2) Accessory
3)Ignition
4)Starter

A test light or multimeter will confirm this.

Do you know which colour is which, i'm wiring in switches and a start button but not sure which is which, might just touch them against the chassis?

Please use a test light or multimeter to confirm which wire is which - touching them to ground will result in a dead short and blow a fuse or something worse.

Could you explain why this is please, looking at the ignition barrel is appears to use itself as a earth?
