Car is a 2001 Bugeye.
Bought it with a poorly engine and eml was on.
Fittted a s/hand late classic engine swapped cam and crank pulley all runs luvly jubbly.
EML is still on and wont reset and the codes generated are as follows
P1088
PO301
PO302
PO303
PO304
PO340
Cannot erase any of the codes
Some of the codes possibly generated as tried starting engine before i knew i had to change the crank and cam pulleys so trigger points would have all been wrong.
Any ideas scoobynet gurus please.

Have you just used the classic bottom end? If not then i'd imagine you will get all sorts of faults for the TGV's and the AVCS heads amongst other stuff.

Used late classic block and heads but sensors and everything else is original bugeye.

 

It is yes , I've told you what happened when you put a classic engine into a new age car without knowing what you are doing.

So you're saying its because its a classic engine into a newage thats the problem are you even though the blocks /heads are the same oh font of all knowledge.

 

The heads are definetely different for a start. Did you have any wiring left over?

 

Heads are different pre 98 but as far as i'm aware the same on 99-2000 classic apart from nearside inlet pulley and toothed crank pulley.
No wiring left over as no wiring on a bare block /heads. Cam and crank sensors from original car as is knock sensor and temp sensor on crossover pipe.
Putting a late classic engine in an early newage is nothing new having read threads on here , elsewhere and speaking to specialist breakers.

 

Seems strange mate that all fine and faults won't reset least it's no issue other than the elm staying on, am sure one of the gurus should be able to help if no luck perhaps pm Simon aka jolly green monster or ANDY forest possibly worth a shout bud.

 

Agreed, as my previous post don't all newage have AVCS heads?

 

No AVCS heads on original engine because its a wrx not sti i believe.
