Default type r dccd light flashing

thought id ask in the general tech forum to!

everything is explained below and has any body else suffered a problem like this?

i will warn you that i removed/unpicked the loom from my type r and fitted everything into a standard sti shell

im pretty sure its all wired up correctly and i understand a flashing light means a dccd malfunction but iv only actually connected a few earths added power to the relay the clocks connected the 2 wires from the diff up and connected the handbrake!

can the fact that the car has not moved (similar to when an abs light illuminates when wheels have been free wheeling in the air) be due to the fact the dccd is malfunctioning or is it more likely going to be a fault i have made on the wiring?

does gear box oil level effect the dccd to even though it has not been driven

any input would be much appreciated

cheers

dont think the oil will affect it, did the system have any faults in the car it came out of? and where did you get the wiring for it?

Nope it was in my own car previous and thts where everything came from

Iv had to cut the loom down so the dccd is separate from the ne shells loom but everything is connected up as per original

Only thing i can think of is if iv got a few wires mixed up or a dodgey join/brake somewhere

Is it common for anything in the box to **** up when removed?

and as for the oil i didnt know whether it could of effected the diff in some way

the thumbwheel works becasue if i turn the ignition off then move the thumbwheel to roughly the second box down and turn the ignition on then the sequence gos

one flash on lock at top

one flash on the second box down

then it remains to flash in the loweest open diff setting box for the duration that the ignition is left on

its working to an extent but not functioning quite correctly which makes me think its not really my wiring and more of a problem i may of created when fitting the engine and box into the car over the past week

what do you think?

Iv sorted it all now

Dodgey connection on the plug where the loom meets the gearbox

Id opened the pins out from stabbing my multimeter in there haha

I knew id sort it...was just gathering ideas from off here
