Default Blobeye 53 surging 3k - 5k rpm

I've got a 53 plate blog eye uk Sti. When I accelerate hard the car surges from 3000rpm to 5000rpm in all gears. What is the likely cause of this?

Surges quickly across rpm but car doesn't accelerate with the revs. Similar if you was to dip the clutch when accelerating.

hi just joined today.im having a similar problem ive had mine mapped by andrew at teamcarr its mafless with full 3" de cat exhaust system.my 2002 wrx engine light comes on between 5,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm and its like loosing boost but after 6,000 rpm the light goes off and starts boosting as it should.would this be down to the nps switch.

Usually only affects the 6 speed box with the engine having avcs. your issue sounds more related to Knock activity going way off the scale to be honest.

without looking at any recorded data it's difficult to say were to start.

Fault with the knock sensor ?

There all possibles to be honest..

If there were no Cel Codes In the vehicle it could well suggest a Knock sensor issue going beyond it's preset parameters, seen it happen before.

Have you tried a fresh tank of fuel and an ecu reset ?

new age doesn't seem to reset in that manner, you can certainly try by all means leave it disconnected for a couple of hours

by means of a subaru diagnostic computer or similar diagnostic software, it gives you the ability to clear the memory back to what it was mapped too so it starts learning again
