Default Hesitation problem

I have searched already, and not found anything relating to the new age imprezas so please don't shoot me down for asking...

My 2003 blobeye WRX with an Exedy fast road clutch kit, a Mongoose exhaust system included down pipe, Walbro up-rated fuel pump and a stage 1 remap carried out by a place called Bowden Auto Services in Torquay.

Decent dyno print out, and decent on-road performance too however the car seems to hold back slightly in 5th gear when on part throttle, almost like a surging/hesitation problem. If you floor the car, the problem seems to go away so maybe its fuel related but I wanted to ask first. It sometimes, rarely does it in 4th but never in the lower gears. No smoke, no timing issues either.

Car has done 50k and has full history from (mainly) main dealer.

Thanks for any suggestions/advice

Bit of a stupid question but are you running the car with the same type of fuel that the car was mapped on?

I am not expert but a friend of mine said he noticed a difference when using different fuel.

I shall clean them tomorrow, thanks. The car has only recently had a service carried out, but I've only recently bought it so couldn't tell you how good the companies used are/were.

If it was running lean, would I get an engine light at all? I know some earlier models had this I think...

I tried cleaning the MAF and crank sensor, made no difference. Also tried running the car with the maf removed, seemed to be the same (I think) but weather was bad etc.

Can anyone help? If you guys don't know then who would

Could be a touch of overboosting but hard to diagnose on the internet.
Would suggest getting your car booked into engine tuner as they are in your area
