Question Newage boot lock swapping 'round' for 'square'

I am trying to do a bootlid and spoiler swap with a fellow Scoobynetter.

He has the 2004 blobeye with the 'square' type boot lock, I have the 2003 type with the 'round' lock.

Is there an easy way to sort this, the idea was to swap over the lock barrels so we retain our own keys for the boot ?

I presume the square surround on his car is actually part of the lock barrel, not just a trim that will fit onto my lock barrel when we do the change over ?

That was a "joke" because its a very common fault for the boot locks to seize

We ended up leaving the boot locks alone and got a spare key cut for each !

You need to make the hole bigger.

You also need the lock and backing plate. The lochs about £20 the plate about £40.
