Default simtek and wiring loom question

currently reshelling my v4 type r into a v4 4 door sti shell and there are a few differences with the looms

the type r has an air temperature sensor but the sti 4 door shell does not

the simtek runs a map sensor from the maf sensor wires so i will have to just splice this in

will the air temp sensor effect the running or does the simtek not use this?

are there any other pins on the ecu i will need to change to because as far as i can tell the new shell has an immobiliser around the column but my type r did not

anything else i need to look out for would be much appreciated

bothe shells run a 3 plug ecu so i was thinking it would be pretty straight forward

pin out diagrams etc would be useful to

thankyou all!

The wiring into maf is the air temp sensor usually not map.

The fuel pump and cam and crank sensor pins need moving although I suspect only the cam and crank need swapping on a simtek as I think it will drive both the jdm and uk fuel pump output pin.
Or it can be swapping within the map.

whats the best thing to do then?

im sure on the type r it has an ambient air temperature senson in what would be the inlet to the airbox aswell as the maf by the airfilter

when the simtek has been fitted though 2 wires from the maf have been chopped and go to a map sensor that has had a boss welded into the intercooler pipe before the throttle body

i have another electric gizzmo that iv got to look at properly to that has been spliced into the ecu harness end that im unsure of

the new shell has an immobiliser i think to and this is worrying me a bit

is there anyway i can find out what pins operate what on the type r then confirm whats what on the new shell and then swap them around as instructed?

just want to get it started and then i can carry on with everything else

got to make up my dccd loom to haha

i think iv sorted how im going to run that though so the lights in the dash work and everything

in hindsight it probably would of been easier to completeley swap the looms over but the looms cant be that different can they if they both have a 3 plug ecu?

cheers from dave

Wire air temp to same place on maf wiring.

Swap cam and crank sensor wiring over or get mapper to do it in software and job done.

does it matter if the boost solenoids are different from one shell to the next?

at a glance i think they are slightly different to?

when its up and running il probably bring it to you or get you to come to me and you can check the wiring over if i dont get it started

Assuming they are both same number of ports and the map it being checked then no issue.

i think they may be different ports

one shell is a 96 v4 saloon sti

the other a 96 v4 type r

does this sound right?

Its possible one has a 3port and one a 2pot.

Worth using the 3port as it is better

is it just plug and play or are there wiring/plug differences?

with the 3 port does this mean il have another pipe iv got to connect somewhere to?

cheers
