either vf34 or vf35 would be ideal and are available at good prices. vf34 will cost more but will give you more power (probably alot more than what you are expecting). The vf35is slightly cheaper and will get you what you want but with the additional benefit of a better spool. Thats my understanding.

Only if they are second hand. New the VF28 or 35 will cost far more than the 32 Billet.

He didnt ask for maximum spool. Did he?
If so i would recomend go for a twinscroll setup like vf37 and avcs heads.
All vf singlescroll turbos are no comparison to twinscroll turbos in terms of spool and powerdelivery

I think the vf23 is one of the best ihi vf genuine subaru singlescroll turbo

He only wants 300bhp though so having a bit of overkill with a laggy turbo isnt what you want, a smaller vf28 would be better or a hybrid TD04, or the SC32 Billet, much more responsive for that power level, but a twin scroll setup would be better, cost a fair bit more though...

Vf35 would be a nice job with a decent map. Should get you the BhB you are looking for
