Default Tracktive effort

After a rolling road session some while ago the guy mentioned a good tractive effort figure. Now, I know what tractive effort means in general terms but would like more knowledge of how it relates to the car on the rollers - tyre/roller grip level? There was a graph readout peaking at 1540lb I've no idea if this is good, bad or ordinary! Should this figure be related to the wheel hp? - it was on the same graph.
