the reason why im asking is because i just purchased a 1998 subaru uk 2000.
i think the engine maybe a sti engine?
it has a td05 turbo
440cc injectors
fmic
full decat system
and the ecu as mentioned.
im trying to find out if this ecu is in fact a 96 to 98 sti ecu?
thankyou in advance

There were no UK STIs in the GC8 (classic shape) the advertiser may put wrx or sti in the advert as this will make the advert show up more often when people are searching for replacement ecus.

Turbo has been changed on your car as I'm pretty sure you should have a TD04.

As per your original post and MYBLACKWRX's reply the 8S ECU is from a standard UK 97/98 Turbo 2000 (destination code EK). It was also used in Australia for the equivalent model (destination code KA)

It was not used on any other models............

Given the mods I would check that it has an ESL daughterboard fitted to the ECU or similar.....................

I doubt if there is a standard ecu that you can swop that will besuitable for your current mods and those planned.

As above..........

Given the mods I would check that it has an ESL daughterboard fitted to the ECU or similar.....................

Fit a daughter board and have it remapped to suit...........
