Default Fuel gauge stuck

Hi guys. Last night i filled my car up on tesco 99 as usual. My fuel was lowest i had ever let it go. About 5 miles with light on ish. I put £60 in and drove off. Well the needle only just went past 1/4 and stopped. When i got home i turned the car off but the fuel guage stayed at the same position.

Any ideas?

Ok. But surely £60 of fuel should have filled it to over 3/4?

if you were completely empty its possible you did not fill it up all the way? did it click and stop filling up to suggest it was full? should have brimmed it

Fill it up to the max and go over a few speed bumps or go down a steep hill with bumps.

Will soon get it right
