Default Classic Up-pipe question?

Hi guys
Iv got a 1998 sti type r.
I was looking at changing the up-pipe for an aftermarket one?

Is there a cat fitted as standard to the type r up-pipe and is there any benefit to changing this?

Thanks for help?

If it makes any difference, the down pipe and rest of system is aftermarket de-catted stainless steel.

Hi there

Personally I wouldn't change yours current one for aftermarket one(if you mean from eBay oversized Up pipe, you will loose on spool and on the top end)

You have decatted Up pipe already and changing for aftermarket can result in loose spool and no gains on top end

What turbo you are now running,if you are still running OE turbo(VF28 etc.) I would stick with your current up pipe and headers, second option is Harvey Up pipe and his ported headers with which people have good results

Thank you for all the advice! I think I'll leave the standard one on then!
Cheers
