Default Coolant temp sensor location

Looking to replace the coolant temp sensor on my sti 2002

Where is it located?

Would this fit the bill?

Yes mate that will fit and is located underneath/behind the alternator

Depending how fast you can remove the alternator differs with people but straight forward todo.
Then it's just a case of disconnecting the 3prong plug under the manifold/behind we're the alternator was then its just a 19mm spanner you need I think. Undo and replace plug back in and assemble. DONE!!
I think if you look at a sticky topic on the forum by looking for a "inlet removal guide " then that should show you the position of the sensor
