Hi im wondering what the reliability of the engine is can anyone help please as ive researched bits and bobs and recently come across the thread about the 2008 engines where as the one i have is 2007 ?

 

Had no probs with my GB270, just serviced regulalry, put fuel in, and enjoyed.

 

Had the oil pump go in my GB270 Wagon - not unheard of apparently on the Impreza's. Replaced with the RCM modified one which overall is a fairly big job hours wise. Also had some paint peel/bubble on the external plastic trims which was redone under warranty.

Other than that no problems.

I believe most of the engine failures are the STI's - very few if any WRX's/WRX's with PPP from what I have read on here (unless modified etc.)
