Default Wear makrs on the belt tensioner

Hi everyone,

What's your take on wear makrs on the belt tensioner? You can see them both on the tensioner itself and on what appears to be a sacrificial harder pin in the engine block. I will change the tensioner but is it an indication of some additional problem as well?

A couple of pictures

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, that is the normal wear pattern you get when you have metal to meatal contact between the tensioner rod and mounting block contact pin.
You need to measure the free length of the tensioner rod to see if it is servicable - should be 5.7mm +-0.5mm.
