clicking in footwell?

clicking in footwell?
I have a 1999 classic impreza 2.0 non turbo sport and when i accelerate there is a clicking sound coming from the passenger footwell. the clicking noise seems to get quicker with the revs like its going with the engine but it doesnt click if i take my foot off the accelerator. any help appreciated
