Changing water pipes to samco hoses any advice
Hi guys,
Having a go at doing a bit of work on my car please bear with me no experience with mechanical stuff but am wanting to get better at it as love my car... Took off my rad pipes top and bottom and drained it man there was some brown **** in there anyways took advice from a similar thread and flushed the rad with loads of water to try and get it a little cleaner unsure if to use petrol to clean it out ?! Anyway my main question is after rubbing down to rad adges to get rid of leftover old rubber have fitted my new blue samco hose which seem to be twice as thick result. When refilling the rad 1) do I just fill it up then turn the motor over till it is properly full ? Or do I need to bleed it somehow ? 2) also any recommends with water wetters or heater additives like dei sell ?
Hope someone can help as not sure what to do next ?!
Should have asked first but was too excited to see the new hoses on....
Cheers
Kris

Fill slowly without bubbling the header tank, when the system is nearly full, start the car and put the fans full on hot, squeeze the top rad hose and fill the header tank as required until the rad fans kick in. Keepa two litre bottle of coolant in the boot and go for a gentle drive. Check header tank, top up if required and away you go!
