Default engine rebulid advice

I have an sti 8,thinking bout having engine rebuilt this winter, nowt wrong with it just the milage is getting up up,just hit 90k,not really chasing numbers, would like around 400bhp built for acceleration,so quick spooling turbo etc, want a good strong reliable engine.
The choices are-
Rebuild the standard 2ltr with turbo upgrade
2.1 stroker kit
2.5 bottom end with my heads etc

What would you all recommend ? Oh and dont want a 10k bill lol

Why would you want a rebuild on 90,000 if there's nothing wrong with it? Get the mods done and save the rest for a future rebuild if needed

Quite new to the subaru game, was told not to let go above 100k without rebuilding the bottom end, she`s running 350ish bhp so was thinking bout rebuilding b4 she goes bang.

From what you are saying I would suggest a forged 2.5, that will make a great road car with great spool, mid range and drivability. If your engine is running ok your bottom end is worth a few £'s which can go toward the 2.5. Bottom line is how much you want to spend. Pm me if you want more info on options and costs.

You've got a strong engine there anyway. I would do a compression test, if all looks good and equal then I would save your money and not bother with the rebuild. Just keep ontop of servicing & use good engine oil! If it does go then it's unlikely to cost you much more than your rebuild if you did it now!
