Default Induction with FMIC

What induction arrangements are people using with their FMIC Typically the Japspeed item.
Although an induction kit (well, MAF tube anyway!) is included in the kit, I would like to know the benefits of something like the RCM/GGR system and importantly, does it fit OK with the intercooler pipework in the same area?

Hi John, I,m having my Japspeed front mount fitted tomorrow and was told that my current K+N Typhoon should be compatable, although I have been advised by Jura that the Typhoon is only good for around 400 B.h.p. Steve

On my current Hyperflow cold air intake I have a K&N cone.(the original Hyperflow filter was a smaller sticky foam thing) Not sure how the size compares to that on the Typhoon but it was the biggest I could squeeze into the cavity. With the TMIC on a very hot day last Sept. it ran 391bhp so, with the FMIC, good induction kit and the turbo swap I'm considering, I hope to be well into the 400's It's the law of diminishing returns - a lot of money for not a great deal of gain!
Let us know how the installation goes and what the mapped end result is!

I've seen the RCM on Ebay for £213 delivered but on the RCM site its £212 +£12.50 delivery!
If it's the RCM Ebay shop then it's nuts to buy it from their website?

Hi, currently running japspeed fmic and using a universal K&N fits perfect but do feel it may be resticting when on full boost. Soon will be fitting a TD05 so will be needing a bigger filter but also unsure what will fit?? May go inner wing

I would continue to use it but as the filter is in the inner wing, it will conflict with the FMIC pipework?

The FMIC pipework would most likely stop you from using the inner wing and even if you could, I don't think you could use a bigger filter than the one you already have? The filter I use (see post#5) is the biggest I could squeeze in. How does it compare with yours?

I'm running a CAIK in my car. Have done for almost 4 years with no problems.

I'm using a Green Filter cone on the end of mine. No problems at all.

Don't think I'll do anything about the induction until I've installed the FMIC, then see what needs to be done!
Jura
I see you have wrapped the IC pipework. I can understand the cold side wrapped to keep out underbonnet heat but I would have thought wrapping the hot side would keep the heat in which is not what you want!
I am considering wrapping the first section of the cold pipe with heat reflective tape in the area where it passes over the turbo.
