Default STI TMIC Installation Issues.

Hey Guys Couple of questions i hope you can help with

1) Fitted STI TMIC to My Wrx Blob now have knock coming from back of IC as it is hitting my Whiteline Front Strut Brace. Any ideas on how to resolve? Other than the obvious removal of Strut Brace.

2)Can i swap the Alloy Y pipe for the Prodrive Y pipe that is on the WRX intercooler without any modification?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Make sure the IC outlet is as close to the throttle body as possible, without actually touching, of course. Trim the connecting tube to allow the IC to get closer. It's surprising how much the engine actually moves under torque reaction and cornering forces.

I had the Prodrive strut brace on my WRX when I fitted an STI intercooler, it was very close and required removal of the strut brace to get the i/c on and off. I then got a Whiteline STI strut brace and all is well, plenty of room and no more removal required to get the I/c off. Think you need to get a STI specific strut brace to solve your problem.

I have a strut brace on my blob wrx from scooby parts and this does not interfere with the sti intercooler i fitted....Which car did you get the intercooler from as mine is from a hawkeye so does sit at a slightly different angle.

The WRX y-pipe is smaller than the STi one, As the WRX is a silicone/plastic y-pipe which fits to two alloy connectors and the STi one is alloy y-pipe with a 90 deg hose, I remember there being an issue when I did my last car about 5years back, Don't be surprised if it doesn't quite reach.
